Ducted Gas Heating - Bunbury
Why Gas heating?
Gas is a highly efficient and clean form of heating and it's relatively inexpensive to run. It's also healthier for your body and is better for the environment, creating fewer greenhouse gas emissions than electricity and inefficient solid fuel heaters.
Environmental benefits
The build-up of greenhouse gas emissions is a major concern, which makes natural gas a responsible choice for home heating.
Research commissioned by the Australian Gas Association* found that gas is well ahead of other forms of heating in limiting greenhouse gas emissions.
For example, natural gas space heaters release one-third the emissions produced by heating from black coal generated electricity.
Smoke from solid fuel heaters also contribute to air pollution and they are less energy efficient with a large percentage of heat lost up the chimney or flue.

Health benefits
Air processed by electric heaters, such as reverse cycle air-conditioners, can dry out the air, irritating the skin, eyes and throat. The outcome is no better from wood heaters which emit small particles in the smoke that can be harmful to health.
Gas heating, on the other hand, results in a high comfort level and an asthma-safe environment.
Efficiency
One of the great benefits of ducted gas and gas space heating is that they work efficiently no matter how cold it is outside.
That's not the case with many reverse cycle electric systems that lose their efficiency when the outside temperature drops below 5°C - just when they are needed most.
Running costs
People switching to gas heating are often surprised at how inexpensive they are to run.
In a 2004 survey Sustainable Energy Authority Victoria found that gas ducted heating is far cheaper to operate than any other form of central heating system, including reverse cycle air conditioning.
WHY BRAEMAR?
The Braemar Ecostar range of gas space heaters is another example of Braemar ingenuity. Braemar Ecostar is ideal for families looking for no-fuss heating that is high on comfort and low on running costs. When purchasing a heating system there are many issues to consider including; running costs, heater efficiency, flexibility of operation and personal comfort. Braemar ducted gas heaters rate highly in all areas. Renowned for their innovative design and leading-edge technology, Braemar heaters are manufactured in Australia to suit Australian conditions.
Elegance
The slim-line design makes it ideal for any home.
Versatile
It can be mounted on solid walls or inset into cavity walls for an even lower profile.
Flexible
An optional rear vent kit allows 60 per cent of the heat to be diverted to an adjoining room. This effectively gives you two heaters for little more than the price of one.
Efficient
Costs less to run. Power flued space heating is one of the most economical forms of heating and Braemar Ecostar SH18 and SH25 space heaters have the highest star ratings of any comparable product. Each heater’s energy efficiency is measured independently with star ratings. The higher the star rating, the more energy efficient the heater is. The more energy efficient, the more you save on running costs. This is why Braemar Ecostar space heaters have in-built technology to ensure Braemar’s space heaters have a high energy efficiency rating of 4.8 stars. Braemar encourages you to compare this star rating with competitor brands.
Healthy
Runs on natural or propane gas that doesn’t dry out the air as happens with some forms of heating.
Environment
An extremely efficient form of heating with low greenhouse gas emissions.
Safety features
With no unhealthy exhausts circulating in the air, no hot surfaces inside the home, no messy ashes or fumes and no smelly chimneys Braemar space heating is the perfect choice for your family's heating needs. To ensure your safety further, Braemar’s power flued space heaters include:
- Overheat safety switches
- Self diagnostic control system
- Cool to touch cabinet
- Child lock
Fixed gas heater that uses natural or LPG gas to heat the air which is then distributed through ducts into the home.
How does Ducted Gas Heating work?
Ducted gas heating consists of a furnace, ducting and a return air grille. The furnace is fuelled by natural or LPG gas.Air is drawn in by a fan and passed over a heat exchanger which warms the air. Ducts distribute the warm air through the home. The return air grille recirculates air to the furnace beginning the cycle again. Ducted gas heaters can be installed inside the roof space, on an external wall or under the house (not suitable if you have a concrete slab).
